How to Write Happy Birthday in Cursive
The most noticeable joins are Ha, pp, Bi, and th. Keep the lowercase letters moving at an even rhythm, leave a clear space between the words, and allow the capital letters to provide the emphasis. For focused letter practice, see capital H and capital B.

What to write in a birthday card
A handwritten birthday card does not need a long message. Most good cards follow the same three parts: a greeting with the person’s name, one wish that fits them, and a warm sign-off.
- Greeting. “Happy Birthday, Emma!” Letter this part in the largest cursive on the card; it is what people see first.
- One wish. Choose a line from the birthday wishes above, or add a shared memory. One sentence written neatly reads better than a paragraph squeezed in.
- Sign-off. “With love,” “Cheers,” or “Your favourite sister,” then your name in smaller, simpler handwriting.
Use a flowing style such as Allura or Parisienne for the greeting, and an easy-to-read style such as Dancing Script for the longer wish. If the wish is late, “Happy belated birthday” at the top says it honestly and kindly.

When should I choose the transparent PNG?
Choose the transparent PNG when the lettering goes on top of something else: a photo, coloured paper, a banner, or a cake topper you print and cut out. Choose the PNG with background when you want the finished card exactly as shown.
How do I use the printable practice sheet?
Choose Printable practice in the preview above, pick portrait or landscape, then print or save the sheet as a PDF from the print dialog. Each line of your message prints first as a grey row to trace, then as blank rows to write on your own. Trace the birthday greeting two or three times, write it on the blank rows, and only then move to the card.
What pen is best for writing in a birthday card?
A fine felt-tip or gel pen around 0.5 mm suits the message inside; for a large Happy Birthday headline, a brush pen or a fine-tip marker gives the thick and thin strokes cursive is known for. Test the pen on the back of the card or the envelope first: glossy and coated cards can smear, so give the ink a minute to dry.
